Pitch Watchdog calls for boycott of pro bono pitch

In some cases, dramatic action is needed to improve a pitch process. That’s what happened when we called for an industry-wide boycott of Toronto Zoo’s pro bono pitch.

After reviewing Toronto Zoo’s pitch proposal, Pitch Watchdog identified several unfair practices & requirements as the reason for the boycott. Given that the pitch was for pro bono work, these included the high number of agencies asked to participate, the cost to the industry, & the undervaluing of Canada’s world-class creative capital.

The move was in keeping with Pitch Watchdog’s aim to help defend & re-energize the agency sector.
