2027 Creative Power List Methodology

2027 Creative Power List Methodology

The ICA’s Creative Advisory Committee, chaired by Brent Choi, decided on a methodology that will be used to create the 2027 Creative Power List based on performance in 2026.  Supported by leading audit, tax, and consulting firm, Doane Grant Thornton LLP, the ICA will publish the 2027 rankings in Q1 2027.

Tier 1 shows:

  1. Cannes Lions
  2. D&AD Awards
  3. The One Show

Tier 2 shows:

  1. ADCC Awards
  2. Clio Awards
  3. Effie Awards Canada
  4. London International Awards

Tier 3 shows:

  1. ADC Awards
  2. Applied Arts Awards
  3. Marketing Awards

Building a tiered weighting:

The aim of the revised methodology is to allow each tier to contribute an approximate percentage towards the overall of the scoring: Tier 1, 50%, Tier 2, 30% and Tier 3, 20%. The contribution distribution considered the number of awards delivered by each program. As an example:

This scoring mechanism will apply in 2026, giving the industry clear visibility into how each award show contributes to overall rankings. The Creative Advisory Committee will review industry feedback at the end of 2026 and confirm the scoring framework for the 2028 Creative Power List.

Co / Joint Entries

Sometimes entries to award shows are made as co / joint-submissions either by multiple agencies or by the same agency but multiple offices.  The points allocated will be divided equally between each entrant in the creation of the Creative Power List.
