The ICA calls for Awards Shows to postpone all 2020 submissions

We are calling on our industry to unite in postponing all remaining 2020 investments in awards shows so we can focus on the well-being of our people and clients as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes not spending any money on award entries or events, regionally, nationally or internationally, from now until December 31, 2020.

The ICA will not be making a Call for Entry to the 2020 Effie Awards Canada in September 2020 and we strongly recommend that all other award shows suspend submissions for this year. Our full efforts must be directed to supporting the rebound of the agency sector for the long-term health of the industry.

No Great Work Left Unseen

Great work must be seen and rewarded so the next Effie Awards Canada will instead launch in 2021.

Canadian agencies ask that all award shows do the same, so no great work is left unseen.

We, the undersigned, agree that our agency are supporting this call and will not be entering any new awards in 2020 placing our focus on our people, clients and the long-term good of our industry.
